Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant for the Institute for Energy Solutions (IES) has the role of contributing to and supporting IES activities, including event planning and logistics as well as information dissemination. These important efforts will help support the work of the Institute Director, Associate Director, Program Manager, Research Specialist, and Steering Committee to enable existing and future energy programs and opportunities at the University of Michigan. The IES supports and expands University of Michigan expertise in energy systems, spanning all colleges, schools, and disciplines. Individuals are expected to come into the position with good interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly learn new administrative skills and systems, such as room booking, food booking and coordination, expense reporting, website updates, and information tracking.

The Institute for Energy Solutions operates in a hybrid work environment consisting of both in-person and remote work. Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes here.The IES does expect you to be in-person for events to provide in-person support.
Additional Information
This is a part-time (20 hours/week) term-limited regular staff position through August 31, 2025, with possible renewal.
