Hourly range for Registered Nurses $40.18-$62.31 / hour

Responsibilities*

?    Serves as primary outreach coordinator
?    Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care
?    Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources. 
?    This RN position is essential in managing patient care through the pre-transplant stage and may also be involved in chronic disease management. Provide skilled observations, telephone triage, education, and health assessments of patients including history, appropriate interventions, and referrals.
?    Foster continuity of care and facilitate transitions across outpatient and community providers on patient population as needed. 
?    Maintain knowledge of all applicable regulatory laws and requirements, including HIPAA, CMS Conditions of Participation, The Joint Commission, and UNOS to ensure regulatory compliance in nursing practice.

Expectations:
?    This staff member is expected to travel to the various outreach clinics 
?    Manage pre coordination of outreach clinics and on-site patient care
?    Critical thinking skills through the nursing process, excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to set priorities. 
?    Customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships within and between units and individuals.
?    Adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives. 
?    Knowledge and skills providing patient and family education and reinforcement related to transplant processes, including but not limited to telephone intervention and face-to-face meetings in both individual and group settings.
?    Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation. 
?    Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions. 
?    Willingness to adapt to different populations within Transplant Center. 
?    Orientation and training would be provided for new subspecialities.

Nursing Specific Info

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Required Qualifications*

?    Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
?    Three years of nursing experience as an RN 
?    At least 2 years? experience caring for patients with chronic renal/liver disease, general medicine (multisystem care), or relevant experience within the last 5 years
?    Transplant Certification (CCTC/CCTN) within three years of hire.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening
