VISITING LECTURER OPENING, Full-time
Calvin University invites applications for a full-time visiting lecturer position in management, beginning in August 2022. This is a one-year appointment to a non-tenure-track position.
 
REQUIREMENTS
The university seeks applicants with vibrant Christian faith who are dedicated to integration of that faith with their field of study.
 
Ideal candidates will hold a PhD, DBA, or JD in a related business discipline. Candidates with a master’s degree in a business discipline and five years of relevant business experience will also be considered.
 
Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or master’s level. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching using a variety of methods and instructional technology in a broad range of business courses, such as: Organizational Behavior, Introduction to Business, Marketing, Strategy, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, and Operations & Supply Chain Management, Business Capstone, and possibility assisting with new program development. Candidates should also have broad interdisciplinary interests; strong networks among business executives; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; ability to integrate questions of meaning, significance, and ethics into the pedagogy; and commitment to experiential learning and engaging students beyond the classroom.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibility of this position will be teaching undergraduate courses, with the possibility of assisting in new program development. The teaching load will be 27-30 credit hours in 2022-2023, with a reduced teaching load if involved in new program development. There are no expectations of pursuing scholarship or serving on university-wide committees, but active participation in the department’s faculty activities such as faculty meetings and committees is expected. Candidates will be asked to affirm their commitment to the educational mission of Calvin University as a Christian liberal arts university in the Reformed tradition, affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church. ABOUT THE CALVIN UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
In 2020, the Calvin University School of Business (CUSB) received a generous $22.25 million gift to build a new facility, strengthen its faculty, grow enrollments, and become a premier School of Business informed and guided by a Reformed Christian perspective. Our five-year strategic goals include gaining AACSB accreditation and launching new programs in business analytics, entrepreneurship, human centered design, and continuing education for people in the trades and other learning communities.
 
The CUSB has more than 500 students enrolled in its six undergraduate majors (Accounting, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Operations and Supply Chain Management) and its Master of Accounting and online Master of Business Administration programs.
