Position Summary
The Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University seeks applications for a 12-month tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Small Animal General Surgery.
The Small Animal General Surgery position is responsible for the surgical management of the small animal caseload at the VTH. Specifically, this position provides surgical consultations, manages surgical appointments (receiving), performs general surgery and teaches on the clinic floor. This position will support both clinical and didactic teaching in the DVM program, graduate student/resident and fellow training, and research in the area of small animal general surgery. The position also supports an important clinical service in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) both in terms of client service and revenue generation. This faculty position will provide 18-22 weeks of clinical service. Additionally, we expect the successful candidate will develop an independent impactful research program and participate in collaborative research. Numerous opportunities for collaborative research exist throughout the college and university.

Assistant Professor – Tenure track
The approximate commitment to clinical responsibilities will range from 18 – 22 weeks.
·         DVM or equivalent veterinary professional degree
·         Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS), or candidates qualified to take the ACVS/ECVS certification examination are welcome to apply
·         3 years expertise in clinical service and instruction of veterinary students and residents and demonstrated ability to work with others in a team atmosphere.
Associate Professor – Tenure track
The approximate commitment to clinical responsibilities will range from 18 – 22 weeks.
·         DVM or equivalent veterinary professional degree
·         Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgery (ACVS) or ECVS
·         Evidence of maintaining a nationally recognized research program
·         5 years expertise in clinical service and instruction of veterinary students and residents and demonstrated ability to work with others in a team atmosphere.
Preferred Job Qualifications
·         Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree and/or postdoctoral research experience.
