Job Summary

The Michigan Youth Violence Prevention Center (MI-YVPC) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to provide project management support to a Centers for Disease Control (CDC)-funded research center focused on youth gun violence prevention. The selected candidate will assist with evaluations of grassroots, youth-driven gun violence prevention programs. Working in close communication with local staff and community partners, the selected candidate will take a leadership role in coordinating data collection activities at our study site in Muskegon, MI. They will contribute to qualitative and quantitative data analyses and writing up findings. The selected candidate will assist with communications, translation, and dissemination activities for the MI-YVPC. This will include conceptualization and writing of social media and website content, fact sheets, blogs, scientific manuscripts, and toolkits. This position is based in Ann Arbor, MI, with some travel expected to Muskegon, MI for community outreach, data collection, and coordination of programmatic activities, (e.g., cross-city youth learning exchanges between our Youth Advisory Boards). We are seeking a candidate with a commitment to social justice and positive youth development. The MI-YVPC is a part of the Prevention Research Collaborative (PRC) based at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. The selected candidate will receive training and mentoring from the PRC faculty.

This position will be based in Ann Arbor, MI and will be primarily remote work. The selected candidate must be able to travel for activities that require program documentation and evaluation, community outreach, and youth engagement in Muskegon, MI.
