Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This position is located in Rockville, MD at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) -
USG’s Assistant Director, Planning will oversee and lead all aspects of planning, design, and construction of campus project renovations. Will monitor schedule and cost of major projects through the establishment of reporting and notification systems. The position will be responsible for developing goals and implementing strategies for USG campus renovations, space planning, scheduling, FF&E and sustainability initiatives.

The position will be responsible for developing goals and implementing strategies for USG campus renovations, space planning, scheduling, FF&E and sustainability initiatives.
The Assistant Director, Planning will function as subject matter expert with regard to construction management; will plan and develop requirements, procedures, and directives necessary for carrying renovation projects, This position will manage staff and will serve as back up to the Director, Facilities and Planning.

Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of (7) years of facilities planning or project management or space planning, or directly related experience, to include a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Data management and budgetary experience.

- Ability to execute multiple projects, meet scheduled milestones, and meet deliverables on time with high-quality outputs.

Additional Information:

Salary range is $108,000 – $135,000.

Work is performed in both an office environment and in the field. Incumbent will be required to perform hands-on tasks with equipment which will require the ability to lift, bend, stooping, and working at heights. Incumbent must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment.
