Job Description

The Mendoza College of Business, recognized for its globally ranked programs and cutting-edge research, is seeking an analytical and experienced Program Director for Business Intelligence to join the College’s Strategy and Planning team.

This key role is instrumental in translating complex data into actionable insights that directly shape the College’s strategic decisions. You will provide critical data-driven analysis and recommendations to senior leadership, faculty, and staff, driving the College’s performance and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Key responsibilities include developing a comprehensive business intelligence strategy, leading the design and implementation of advanced analytics, and overseeing financial data reporting. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, effectively presenting complex analytics to both technical and non-technical audiences, and leading multiple cross-functional projects that align with the College’s strategic goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Degree
Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant work experience

Experience
  • Business Intelligence/Data Analytics -Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, preferably within a higher education or research-intensive environment.
  • Project Management – Proven experience in managing and delivering complex business intelligence projects, including data integration, dashboard development, and reporting.
  • Collaboration - Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and departments, particularly in a large, complex organization.

Skills
  • Data Management & Analysis – Advanced proficiency in data management tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI) and experience with statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Python) for complex data analysis.
  • Strategic Thinking – Strong ability to align data insights with strategic goals, providing actionable recommendations influencing high-level decision-making.
  • Communication – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving – Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of data modeling, statistical analysis, and predictive analytics, capable of solving complex problems and making data-driven decisions.

  • Influence and Leadership – Ability to influence and drive a data-driven culture across the College, leading initiatives that enhance data literacy and strategic use of business intelligence.
  • Attention to Detail – High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and integrity in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Adaptability – Ability to stay current with emerging trends and technologies in business intelligence and apply them effectively within the College.
  • Interpersonal Skills – Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, demonstrating cultural competency and inclusivity.
