Case Manager, Institute Discrimination and Harassment Response (IDHR) Office

Job Description

CASE MANAGER, Chancellor's Office-Institute Discrimination and Harassment Response (IDHR) Office, to assist with case management services for complaints of discrimination/harassment based on an individual’s race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, or national/ethnic origin involving any member of the MIT community.  Will conduct initial assessments of reported cases to determine resolution pathways based on the desired outcome of the reporting party and the safety needs of the community; document reported allegations of discrimination/discriminatory harassment, including their resolution, and coordinate the resources needed for implementing supportive measures; oversee data collection, storage, maintenance, tracking, and reporting; collaborate on both strategic decision-making and daily operations of the office.  

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in related field, e.g., student affairs, higher education administration, public health, social work, and/or psychology; three years’ relevant professional experience in case management, civil rights compliance, or investigations; experience exercising discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment in rapidly changing circumstances; case management experience; initiative; ability to independently organize, prioritize, and carry out detailed work under time constraints; track record of team building and engaging multiple key stakeholders to achieve objectives; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to cultivate partnerships in MIT’s diverse community of students, staff, and faculty; comprehensive knowledge of national and local civil rights issues, trends, legal obligations, and initiatives; knowledge of working with data sets, creating annual reports, and methods for presenting data clearly; and Microsoft Office experience.  PREFERRED:  background and training in conducting sensitive and confidential intake interviews, ideally in a higher education environment; familiarity with Institute policies/procedures; experience developing systems and protocols to maintain organizational compliance; and familiarity with Maxient and Smartsheet.  Job #24346-8
