Position Summary:
The Director, Finance will oversee complex revenue accounting and reporting activities within Accounting and Finance, ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley ("SOX"), ensure timely and accurate consolidation of Travere Therapeutics' subsidiaries, and oversee all intercompany transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 standards.
  • Performs monthly revenue accounting, including determining gross-to-net adjustments and preforming revenue and accounts receivable journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on complex revenue transactions and contract reviews.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls over the revenue accounting processes.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports related to revenue.
  • Stay abreast of industry changes in revenue accounting standards and implement necessary updates to company practices.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit and quarterly reviews.
  • Provide leadership for the international accounting team and ensure consolidation and statutory financial statements are completed timely and accurately.
  • Support SEC reporting team in the preparation of 10-Q, 10-K, and Proxy
  • Prepare and review journal entries account reconciliations to support the accounting close and reporting as appropriate.
  • Be a valued business partner to IR, FP&A, Legal Commercial, and Tax for revenue reporting considerations, external reporting, and international considerations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes.
  • Provides quality control support in the review of monthly Company equity plan activity.
  • Prepares annual SOX scoping analysis and facilitates SOX testing process in coordination with 3rd party SOX consultants.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant discipline; CPA and Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in ASC 606 revenue reporting requirements, pharmaceutical commercial revenue recognition, and international accounting
  • International consolidation process and working with multiple currencies, statutory accounts and IFRS within an ERP system.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Strong understanding of SOX/ internal controls
  • Morgan Stanley/ E*TRADE Equity Edge stock administration platform, JDE, Adaptive and Workiva experience a plus
  • 10 of years' experience required in Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of ERP consolidation and elimination process, currency translation adjustment and revaluation entries.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP including foreign currency translation accounting requirements, ASC 830
  • Understanding of general tax concepts relating to international subsidiaries such as transfer pricing, "substance," VAT.
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Effective communication across all levels of the organization and with external service providers
  • Strong leadership and people development experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and reporting tools
  • Effective organizational and critical thinking skills with the ability to set-up, automate and track data and information.
  • Strong professional experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and manage complexity.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Previous line management experience with the ability to effectively manage performance, engage team members, provide coaching, and respond to situations affecting staff.
  • Successful record of creating and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths.
  • Ability to adapt to modification and changes to project plans, demonstrating flexibility to implement new strategies and tactics to accommodate these changes.
  • Ability to travel 10% domestically.
  • All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego. No role is expected to be 100% remote.

Compensation: Our competitive compensation package includes a combination of both cash compensation (base pay and short-term incentive) and long-term incentive compensation (company stock), designed to recognize, retain, and reward employees.

Target Base Pay Range:

$175,000.00 - $235,000.00
