This position will be responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies; enforcing all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations; inspecting the facility on a daily basis and reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor; completing records and reports; participating in regular in-service training sessions; and maintaining fitness levels (swimming skills, strength and endurance). Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Please note, we can offer lifeguard training to those that do not meet the minimum qualifications at Rolfs Aquatic Center. It will require a registration fee.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess current certification in the following: American Red Cross Lifeguarding; First Aid; American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
- Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques is a necessity.
- Must possess leadership, public relations and decision making skills as well as an understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) Certification
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification
