Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Supply Chain Management in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University invites applications to fill a part-time term faculty position with primary teaching responsibilities starting August 2024, with an initial one-year term and possibility of renewal.
The candidate’s responsibilities will include developing and teaching undergraduate and master’s-level graduate courses in Supply Chain Management. The areas of teaching include Process Management, Project Management, Purchasing and Supply Management, Supply Chain Analytics, Supply Chain Planning & Control, Transportation, and other related areas as needed. Successful candidates will also be expected to contribute to the department’s growing programs in terms of committee services and industry engagement. In general, all Ivy faculty members are expected to provide a high-quality education that prepares students for real-world experiences and successful employment.
Specific to teaching responsibilities, the candidate must be able to prepare well-organized syllabi and teaching plans that reflect the program objectives and expectations, conduct well-prepared class sessions that effectively deliver the course content and engage students, administer meaningful and relevant assignments, and grade students’ work with an emphasis on student development. The actual teaching load is dependent on the department’s needs and is negotiable.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- MBA degree or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Prior professional experience in Supply Chain Management.
- Prior teaching experience at the college level.
- Demonstrated passion and commitment to student success.

The Department of Supply Chain Management is composed of 12 tenured and tenure-track faculty members and three term faculty members. The department enjoys a strong reputation in faculty research and student focus. Our department constantly ranks among the top 10 in the world for empirical supply chain management research. We offer nationally ranked undergraduate and graduate supply chain management programs. Our department actively engages industry partners in different ways, including the Ivy Supply Chain Forum.
