Job Description

This position will serve as a Bereavement Program Support Assistant (PSA) who will be responsible for all administrative tasks and will engage in research to form a model of bereavement care that includes education, training, and intervention through the Bereavement Services programming. Specifically, the position entails providing project support to the Director of the Student Counseling Center and the Lead Bereavement Clinician, including assistance with progress reports, project management, communication with people and organizations outside of the program. Cultural humility and competence, and a respect for sensitive information and confidentiality, are qualities an ideal candidate must have in this position.

Job Duties:

Administrative

  • Provide administrative support to keep track of participants who utilize program services.
  • Maintain and update grantmaking procedure manuals and grant cycle timelines
  • Assist with special bereavement-related projects as needed

Data Collection

  • Collect, organize, and store raw data produced from participants who engage in surveys and interviews.
  • Analyzes, and evaluates data according to specifications set by the director and the granting agency.
  • Interpret raw data to produce reports on trends and program progress.
  • Discusses findings to evaluate validity of findings and to highlight program trends.
  • Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities

Research

  • Maintains an overview of relevant research findings while ensuring all research is undertaken according to best research practices.
  • Prepares reports of completed projects for publication in technical journals, for presentation to agency requesting project, or for use in further applied or theoretical research activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

  • This position requires one who is student-centered, accessible and open to supporting mental health services provided to students. 
  • The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and administrators and serve as a liaison and student advocate when needed
  • Must have knowledge of data management (e.g., spreadsheets) processes and be able to independently assimilate and evaluate clinical data
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
  • Considerable knowledge and experience with Microsoft office Suite Software
  • Experience in outpatient mental health, medical settings, and/or University Counseling Centers is .

Requirements: 

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of data management and distribution
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to independently assimilate and evaluate clinical data
  • Must be experienced in handling multiple tasks at once and working well as a member of a team
