Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President for Mission Integration and Ministry, the
Executive Director (ExD) of Campus Ministry strategically leads all aspects of the
Fordham University Office of Campus Ministry across its campuses.
In service of Fordham’s Jesuit, Catholic mission and identity, the Executive
Director fosters the religious, spiritual, and liturgical life of the entire campus
community. The Executive Director oversees and collaborates with a team of
professionals to ensure the effective pastoral outreach to the university
community. They direct a team dedicated to both the Catholic tradition and a
broad spectrum of faith expressions, focusing on student wellness, flourishing
initiatives, and the dynamic sacramental and liturgical life of the university.
This position requires regular evening and weekend hours and occasional travel.
Essential Functions
∙ Develops a comprehensive vision for the Office of Campus Ministry,
integrating Catholic sacramental and liturgical life with diverse interfaith
and multi-faith programming.
∙ Guides the organization in offering a range of campus ministry programs,
including Catholic Masses and religious services in other faith traditions,
interfaith dialogues, religious education classes, spiritual retreats, and
community engaged learning projects.
∙ Ensures the delivery of student support services like pastoral counseling
and spiritual guidance.
∙ Builds relationships with various university departments and external
religious organizations to enhance campus ministry offerings, including
guest speakers, interfaith symposiums, and collaborative worship events.
∙ Actively promotes Campus Ministry, emphasizing its role in nurturing
Fordham’s Catholic and multi-faith dimensions through events like
orientation sessions, open houses, and university-wide celebrations.
∙ Leads mission-driven initiatives that embody the University’s Catholic
identity and commitment to interfaith harmony and multiculturalism, such
as campus-wide faith exploration series and dialogue forums.

Management Responsibilities
Provides strategic leadership and supervises others who supervise. Responsible
for hiring, training, developing, managing performance, administering corrective
action, makes compensation decisions and for managing strategic views at a
high level.
Additional Functions
∙ Establishes and promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of the
Office of Campus Ministry to align with and advance those of the
University.
∙ Directs the organizational plan of the Office of Campus Ministry and
oversees hiring and staff management from a strategic and programmatic
standpoint
∙ Ensures successful liturgical, educational, and ministerial services to
students, faculty, and staff.
∙ Oversees, develops and implements programs focusing on interfaith
discussions, and wellness workshops.
∙ Provides a comprehensive suite of services, including organizing special
liturgical seasons (Advent, Lent), facilitating faith-sharing groups, and
hosting interfaith festivals.
∙ Strengthens the ecumenical and interfaith dimensions of campus life,
emphasizing initiatives like interfaith volunteer work and religious literacy
series.
∙ Develops new programs to address emerging spiritual needs, such as
digital faith engagement platforms, and revises existing programs to align
with contemporary contexts.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
∙ Master’s Degree in Divinity, Theology or related field.
∙ Minimum five years relevant ministerial experience.
∙ Minimum five years experience in program administration, leading and
supervising groups and individuals in managerial contexts, budget
oversight.
∙ Significant experience in adult staff supervision.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
∙ Knowledge and experience working with Ignatian Spirituality, Discernment,
and the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
∙ Close familiarity with the Jesuit educational tradition.
∙ Strong organizational skills, with experience in strategic planning,
developing, implementing and evaluating programs.
∙ Commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence.
∙ Demonstrated competence in multicultural, ecumenical, and interfaith
issues.
∙ Understanding of spiritual/religious development stages for contemporary
young adults and the capacity to implement programs to meet these
spiritual developmental aspirations.
∙ Competence in interacting with academic culture.
∙ Excellent communication skills in multiple settings and contexts.
∙ Ability to embrace and persuasively articulate the Jesuit, Catholic mission,
vision, and values of Fordham University
∙ Strong commitment to fostering diversity, inclusive excellence, Catholic
sacramental life, and proficiency in interfaith dialogue.
∙ Expertise in multicultural, ecumenical, and interfaith matters, with a deep
understanding of Catholic liturgical and sacramental traditions.
∙ Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the
goals of Jesuit Education.
Minimum Starting Salary: $110,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $120,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
