Position Overview: The Stonecipher School of Business at East Central University (ECU) in Ada, Oklahoma, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance and Economics. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching undergraduate courses in finance and economics, engage in scholarly research, and contribute to the academic and professional development of students.
The department of business administration resides in the Stonecipher School of Business. The Stonecipher School of Business (SSB) offers undergraduate degrees in finance, accounting, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, general business, information technology management, data analytics, and project management along with graduate degrees in accounting and management.
The school also offers nine certificate degree programs including banking and finance, entrepreneurship, management information systems, human resource management, promotions management, treasury management, managerial accounting, and global business. The SSB is accredited through the Accreditation Council of Business Programs (ACBSP).
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate courses in finance and economics, including but not limited to:
- Principles of Finance/Financial Management
- Managerial Economics
- Investments
- Financial Markets and Institutions
- Microeconomic Theory
- Macroeconomic Theory
- Develop and deliver course materials that promote active learning, critical thinking, and practical application of concepts in finance and economics.
- Advise and mentor students, provide academic and career guidance, and supervise independent study projects or internships.
- Participate in departmental and university service activities, including committee assignments, curriculum development, and student organizations.
- Stay current with developments in finance and economics, integrating relevant industry trends, data analysis techniques, and theoretical frameworks into teaching and research activities.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution (applicants near completion of their doctoral degree will be considered).
- Demonstrated expertise in finance and economics, with a focus on areas such as financial planning, financial analysis, investment management, statistics, or related fields.
- Evidence of effective teaching ability, preferably at the undergraduate level, and commitment to student-centered instruction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage effectively with students.
- Experience or willingness to engage in experiential learning activities, such as case studies, simulations, or industry projects.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 depending on qualifications.
