Job Description

Community Care College is seeking a Bookkeeping and Accounting Instructor! This position requires on-campus work in Tulsa, along with online teaching of Bookkeeping and Accounting at an associate level. You will educate and prepare students for either entry-level bookkeeping positions with a foundation in accounting principles and in-demand accounting software, or an AOS Accounting Degree to meet the requirements of entry-level accounting positions. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required and a minimum of 3 recent years' field experience working in accounting or finance and advanced in Quickbooks software. The ideal candidate will have a sincere desire to help others succeed and achieve their dreams.

Part-Time position with flex hours between on-campus and remote work. Instructors are required to provide their own hardware (PC or Mac Computer), software, and Internet service when working remotely. Licensed by OBPVS.

 


General Instructor Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Teach students in-person and online classes (using Zoom) through lectures, discussions, and in the lab with hands-on training
  • Counsel students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback
  • Develop curriculum (course outline or syllabus), plan lessons and assignments, teach courses, prepare teaching materials and labs
  • Assesses students’ progress by grading assignments, exams, and other work
  • Provides individual tutoring or remedial instruction to students who require it
  • Model the CARES philosophy (Courtesy, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Success)
  • Advocates for and supports the college through extracurricular activities including, but not limited to, open houses, graduation ceremonies, and fundraising events for the non-profit organization
  • Attend meetings, as required, to stay connected (Faculty Forum, Team/Department Meetings, etc.)
  • Commit to continuous improvement as an online educator by attending training and professional development opportunities as desired or as assigned
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum 3 years of field experience working in accounting
  • Must have good technical skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
  • Must be computer literate and extremely familiar with online technologies

Preferred

  • Teaching experience
  • Distance Education teaching experience
  • Proficient with Google Workspace
  • Experience with Canvas LMS a plus
