As we approach the end of a strategic period and look towards what is next, we are seeking a driven and motivated Chief Information Officer to lead our high performing digital delivery and technology teams and approach.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and as a vital member of the Operations leadership team, you will:
- Lead the strategic vision, development, and implementation of innovative digital solutions.
- Drive transformation initiatives, using technology to enhance operational efficiency and improve customer experience.
- Oversee our digital, technology, and cyber-security delivery and strategy across the organisation.
- Play a key role in the development and management of IT and digital services, focusing on optimising processes and improving service quality.
- Foster a culture of innovation and digital transformation, aligning with the organisation’s mission and strategic goals.

- A strategic thinker with a proven track record leading technology functions in complex environments.
- A delivery leader, who can deliver high quality technology services, and underpin and support leaders across the organisation in digitising and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of their functions.
- A capable influencer, who can build relationships across the organisation, bringing the University community on board with digital opportunities.
- A leader with a strong awareness of cyber-security and digital risk management capable of engaging on risk with all levels of an organisation.
- Someone who values and champions ethical leadership, equality, diversity, and inclusion within their portfolio and across the organisation.
- An individual with an understanding and passion for emerging technologies and digital business models in higher education.

Role Parameters:
- Competitive salary, plus a generous benefits package and hybrid working.
- Technology spend: Annual spend of approximately 20M GBP.
- Team parameters: Centralised technology team of approximately 120 colleagues.
