Position Summary
The Department of Chemistry, Physics, and Atmospheric Science at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The Postdoctoral Research Associate is open to join the vibrant research term of Dr. Nihar Pradhan at Jackson State University where we are at the forefront of cutting-edge nanoscale materials and device research. We are excited to announce an immediate opening for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher. This position is in collaboration with Argonne National Lab in Chicago and working in collaboration with Dr. Anirudha Summit’s group at the Center for Nanoscale materials.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong expertise in materials synthesis using Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Chemical Vapor Transport (CVT).
  • Proficiency in device fabrication utilizing lithography techniques.
  • Experience working in a clean room environment.
  • Ability to conduct electrical transport measurements of nanoscale devices.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a Postdoctoral Researcher in our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Engage in the synthesis of Diamond film and 2D semiconductor materials using CVD, CVT techniques.
  • Collaborate with experts in the field to fabricate heterostructure nanoscale devices integrating diamond film with 2D materials.
  • Perform temperature-dependent electrical transport and optical measurements contributing to groundbreaking research.
  • Characterize interfaces using cutting-edge electron and x-ray microscopy techniques.
  • Work closely with graduate students, fostering a collaborative research environment.
  • Travel between Argonne National Lab and Jackson State University as needed to advance research objectives.
  • Contribute to the publication of scientific manuscripts arid share your findings through presentations at national and international conferences.
