Job Summary

Tenure-track history faculty who will teach general education courses, required of all students, and upper-level history, which is required for all history majors. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

The Assistant/Associate Professor will function in the areas of:

  • Teach sections of World History 
  • Teach upper level history courses in his/her specialized field 
  • Advise students in the History major 
  • Contribute to the History Club and/or the department chapter of Phi Alpha Theta 
  • Serve on committees, as assigned by the Department Chair and the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences 
  • Attend faculty meetings, convocations, and commencements, and to participate in other official University functions when requested 
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Department Chair, Dean of the College/School, or Provost 

 

Qualifications

Minimum: 

  • Ph.D. degree in History or related field is required. ABD considered
Preferred: 

  • Ability to teach courses in United States history 
  • Experience with digital history and/or public history
  • Experience with equity-minded teaching and learning
