Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Urban Studies Planning Program (URSP), in the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation periodically hires qualified academics and professionals to teach in a part-time capacity in our degree programs in Urban studies planning. Teaching responsibilities typically include instruction in one or more of the following: studios, lecture courses, and/or seminar courses at the graduate level.Successful candidates will demonstrate teaching potential and evidence of continuing achievement in their area of expertise that will help advance and/or complement the School’s education mission.
Minimum Qualifications:
The URSP Program seeks letters of interest, resumes, and portfolios from qualified individuals. Minimal qualifications include a terminal professional degree in a relevant discipline, or an advanced academic degree in a relevant area of expertise. Experience in some instances, may be substituted for degree. The School seeks individuals who demonstrate teaching experience in the form of prior teaching appointments, teaching assistantships, professional expertise, or other relevant education venues.Ability to teach in person on campus and skills to teach online if necessary.
Preferences:
An MA in Planning or a relevant discipline is required. Completion of a Ph.D. in Planning or a related discipline is preferred.
