If you are graduating with a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, math, computer science or related field and want to work in creating custom microelectronics solutions, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL!

 

The Miniature Device Technologies Group develops highly customized tools and techniques required to carry out missions around the globe. We are seeking recent college graduates to help us demonstrate new and creative concepts, continuously improving on the state of the art. Whether it be a quick reaction need from the field or the long-term development of a new capability, you will join a creative, forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary team to work hand in hand with our government sponsors to conceive and realize solutions to their most challenging problems. We leverage multiple engineering fields in digital/analog/RF integrated circuit design, printed circuit board (PCB) design, embedded software, field-programmable gate array (FPGA), signal processing, algorithm development/implementation, automated test and evaluation, and more to create ultra-small, low-power solutions that exceed comparable commercial alternatives.


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have earned a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, math, computer science or related technical field
  • Demonstrated experience in one OR more of the following areas:
    • analog/RF/high-speed circuit design
    • automated testing of electronic devices
    • experience working with or designing ASIC/FPGA based systems
    • PCB design tools (Altium or similar)
    • basic working knowledge of laboratory test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, waveform generators, and vector network analyzers
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multi-organizational team  
  • Have good organizational skills and an ability to multi-task
  • Are willing and able to support travel if necessary
  • Are able to ultimately obtain Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You will go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have a master's in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, math, computer science or related technical field
  • Have familiarity with configuration management tools, bug tracking tools, and peer reviews
  • Have experience with digital signal processing and high-speed design
  • Have experience with both data path and state machine design
  • Have developed test benches and written verification tests
