Job Description and Requirements

Synopsys provides cloud solutions (both BYOC -"Build Your Own Cloud" and SaaS - "Software as a Service") for customers who use Synopsys EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools on cloud platforms. The DPS (Distributed Processing Solutions) team creates building blocks to enable such cloud offerings. We are looking for an additional team member to join our exciting R&D initiatives, to support successful deployment of our products, and to provide expert guidance in the adoption and integration of our products.

Responsibilities:

  1. Research, design, develop, integrate, benchmark, document, and test software programs built by us or open-source communities.
  2. Architect and build leading edge grid/cloud computing solutions for solving large engineering problems, such as parallel and distributed processing or simulation of microprocessor designs.
  3. Transfer best-practices in computing in general and HPC (High Performance Computing) in particular to solutions for EDA R&D problems.
  4. Learn new engineering practices in design, debugging, and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
  1. Have completed Computer Science or relevant training at a four-year technical college level.
  2. Have experiences with Operating Systems development, Filesystems development, or Networking Subsystems development.
  3. Hands-on and fluent with C++ or Golang programming, with skills in C and Python a plus.
  4. EDA background is a plus but not a must.
  5. Entrepreneurship is welcome and desirable.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $114,000-$170,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
