UW SYSTEM OFFICIAL TITLE: Associate Dean

POSTING DATE: September 9, 2019

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Austin E. Cofrin School of Business (AECSB) at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for the position of Associate Dean. The Associate Dean will hold the endowed Austin E. Cofrin Chair of Business and report to the Dean of the AECSB. The Associate Dean is responsible for coordinating activities related to accreditation, curriculum, and enrollment management, coordination among the four campus locations, and initiatives related to excellence of the AECSB and its programs and services. The Associate Dean will also serve as the Director of the Executive Impact MBA program.

The AECSB was established in 2010 and was elevated to a College in the summer of 2016. The AECSB supports three young departments in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, and Marketing and Management. The College supports roughly 1,200 students, primarily at the undergraduate level, and has sustained continued annual growth over the last four years at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and is preparing for future expansion. The College offers graduate degrees in Management, Data Science, and through its pending Executive Impact MBA program. The School supports undergraduate programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Analysis, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay supports campuses in Green Bay (main), Manitowoc, Marinette, and Sheboygan, with degrees options available at all locations. Collectively this institutional cluster is situated in the third largest economic engine and the third largest population base within the state of Wisconsin, with positive future demographics and strong community partnerships. The potential for external collaboration is strong and supported through the AECSB’s Small Business Development Center, its partnership with TitleTown Tech, and numerous long-standing relationships. The School is dedicated to meeting its responsibility as an access-oriented, regional comprehensive university, serving the regional population. These values are supported by the AECSB Academic Plan, which includes an expectation to earn Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) accreditation, an actionable and regionally tailored Diversity and Inclusivity plan, programmatic alignment with the region, and a focus on creating community and high-impact experiences for our students. The faculty and staff are committed to student success, and faculty actively engage in impactful scholarship.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in the continuing development and implementation of the School's strategic plan to obtain initial accreditation by the AACSB.

  • Provide leadership in developing the Executive Impact MBA program, new programs, and centers of excellence.

  • Promote a culture of collaboration within the AECSB.

  • Provide leadership in the pursuit of excellence of programs and services that support student-learning experiences.

  • Provide oversight of curriculum planning and management, including enrollment management, program reviews, and academic catalog revisions among programs and at all four locations.

  • Manage the planning, preparation, and modification of the fall, spring, summer, and January interim timetable/schedule of classes for all four locations.

  • Coordinate data management for School curricular and program information.

  • Communicate with graduate and governance unit chairs and the faculty/staff about student advising activities.

  • Support School efforts to promote professional development of faculty/staff and faculty excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

  • Assume backup budget authority in the Dean's absence.

  • Represent the College and the Dean on institutional committees and within the University community as appointment by the Dean.

  • Assist with community outreach and fundraising and faculty/staff searches within the School.

  • Teach one undergraduate class per year.
